Hyderabad Perfectly Ready to Be Future City: Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Terming Hyderabad as the city of the future, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Telangana was ready for a future which is woven by harassing advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI).
Inaugurating a two-day AI Global Summit here, the Chief Minister said nothing will change society and lives of people as technology and innovation.
“Today, the greatest technological innovation, and disruption is here. It is artificial intelligence. When any new technology comes, it brings both hope and fears — hope of how it will make our life better and fear of job losses and disruption. When we think of India and our history, we missed past industrial revolutions. We were following, not leading. If we think of India's future, no city is as perfectly ready for it as Hyderabad. In our city, we not only embrace the future, but we also create it,” he said.
The Chief Minister unveiled ‘AI-Powered Telangana’, a strategy document and implementation roadmap. “Telangana’s AI strategy is not just about adopting technology; it is about empowering our people. We believe that the true strength of AI lies in its ability to augment human capabilities, and we are determined to ensure that our citizens are not only consumers of AI but also active contributors to its development,” Revanth Reddy said in the document.
“Our commitment to artificial intelligence is not new. We have already taken big steps for AI. We want to lay a strong foundation for our future,” said Revanth Reddy after unveiling the report.
“Our vision is for Telangana to become an exemplar state where AI is harnessed for the greater good, technological advancements lead to social progress, and every citizen benefits from this digital revolution,” the document said.
Telangana intends to improve service delivery for over one crore citizens and enhance productivity of the government employees by more than 20 per cent over the next three years.
The government will set an example by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) across its operations to enhance efficiency and service delivery and generative AI will be leveraged to power interventions aimed at solving the most critical governance challenges across domains including education, healthcare, agriculture, and service delivery, the report further said.
With a goal to make Telangana the global hub for AI innovation and implementation, it will focus on AI direction setting, integrating AI in governance, have AI-ready local datasets and models, creating on an AI-enhanced ecosystem, and establish India’s most robust AI City hosting multinational corporations, research institutions and start-ups.
He said that Telangana AI Mission, or T-AIM will help in implementing the AI framework in Telangana.
