Hyderabad: Residents slam HMWS&SB officials for closing unattended complaints
Hyderabad: Many people from the city are lashing out at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), whose officials are closing complaints lodged by the consumers without addressing the underlying issues.
Despite the board being flooded with innumerable complaints regarding erratic water supply and sewerage problems, there has been no tangible redressal. Rather, the officials are marking the complaints as ‘solved’ and sending text notifications, while the issues remain unresolved.
Iqbal Khan from Hassan Nagar said “We have lodged several complaints, but they have been dismissed without any action. We continue to bear the torture.”
Similarly, Raju Reddy stated that despite raising multiple complaints, “we get notifications saying that the issue has been solved even though the problem remains unattended.”
A resident from TV Colony, Ramanthapur, reported similar concerns, adding, “I filed a complaint twice and provided detailed location information about a water leakage, yet the complaint has been closed without carrying out any repairs, whatsoever.”
Meanwhile, V.L .Praveen Kumar, revenue director, HMWS&SB, told Deccan Chronicle, “there are perhaps some complaints that might have been closed without being resolved but we are trying to address and resolve most of the complaints.”
With critical services like water supply and sewerage at stake, as are people’s lives, the vexed citizens are demanding that HMWS&SB take permanent solutions rather than relying on shortcuts that are hardly serving any purpose.
