Hyderabad: A fire that broke out in a footwear manufacturing facility at Purani Haveli on Wednesday took four hours to extinguish. No one was injured in the incident.
Though the reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained, locals said it could be a short-circuit. The fire raged in the manufacturing facility and also the godown, and around Rs 15 lakh worth material is said to be gutted.
Mohammed Ayub Khan, a local, said the factory had stocks of rubber stored, and the fire quickly engulfed the entire factory. “People used to live in the factory and work. They ran the factory without any permissions. It will be safer if they follow protocols and work accordingly,” he said.
Police are investigating to find out the cause of fire.
