Few Hyderabad Schools, Colleges Declare Holiday Over Bandh by Student Groups

Hyderabad: Student groups such as Student's Federation of India (SFI), All India Students' Federation (AISF), National Students' Union of India (NSUI) and other outfits have called for a nationwide educational strike on Thursday against alleged irregularities in several competitive exams including NEET by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Due to the nationwide bandh, few schools and colleges in Hyderabad have already declared holiday on Thursday. Several schools in the city sent out WhatsApp text messages to intimate parents that Thursday was a non-working day.

The students' organisations are demanding scrapping of NTA, which conducts a few competitive exams. They are also demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to take the responsibility for irregularities in the recent NEET and UGC- NET Examiniations.
