Hyderabad: SPARSH Event Launched for Ex-Servicemen
Hyderabad: In an initiative aimed at addressing grievances and ensuring smoother service for ex-servicemen, the SPARSH outreach programme was inaugurated at the MCEME Auditorium in Secunderabad.
Secretary (pensions) V. Srinivas inaugurated the two-day event organised by the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Secunderabad in collaboration with HQ Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA).
Designed with a dual purpose, the event emphasises the swift resolution of ex-servicemen’s grievances alongside the nationwide rollout of Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 3.0, with a special focus on face authentication technology. This initiative is a step towards enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of pension and welfare services for the veteran community.
The event saw the establishment of several dedicated counters at the venue, providing specialised services for attendees. These included record offices, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO), veterans cell, DLC-related support, UIDAI services, family pensioner counter, handicapped assistance counter and registration counters for ex-servicemen.
A significant turnout of ex-servicemen and their dependants was witnessed at the event. Dignitaries including the secretary pensions, joint secretary, CGDA, deputy director general of UIDAI, and Major General Rakesh Manocha, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding TASA, addressed the gathering and interacted with attendees to reaffirm the government’s commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen.
