Telangana HC judge urges youths to shun drugs, focus on life

Nizamabad: Justice Sujoy Paul of the Telangana High Court, who is executive chairman of the Telangana Legal Services Authority, said that people, particularly students, should keep away from drugs. The lives of youths are spoiled due to addiction to drugs, he said, adding that for a bright future, youths should concentrate on their life goals and need not take to drugs.

The District Legal Services Authority conducted an awareness programme on NLSA (legal services to the victims of drugs abuse and eradication of drugs menace) Scheme, 2015 at district integrated offices complex here on Saturday.

High Court judge P. Sree Sudha, administrative judge of Nizamabad, TGLSA member secretary Panchakshari, district sessions judge Suneetha Kunchala, collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, Narcotic Control Bureau Hyderabad zonal director Sachin Gorpade, police commissioner Kalmeshwar Shinganevar and others participated in the event.

Speaking at the meeting, Justice Paul said in olden days no student committed suicide, but now students end their lives due to drugs effect. Information technology had made life wiser and at the same time, few people used it in an adverse way, he said. Sports and regular exercises make people mentally strong, he said.

Justice Sree Sudha said the younger generation lacked the responsibilities and lost mental balance for trivial things. The victims were easily addicted to drugs and spoiled their lives, she said. If any youth is addicted to drugs, it should be informed to their parents, Justice Sree Sudha suggested.
