Hyderabad: Technical glitches hamper Mee Seva services

Students seeking admissions among worst hit

HYDERABAD: Mee Seva services at many centres have remained paralysed for over a week which, apart from the general public, has hit the students community very badly.

It is a critical juncture for students aspiring for higher studies, as they are racing against time to submit certificates that are mandatory while seeking admission across educational institutions. The most adversely impacted are students who have secured admission in PG and other higher education institutes but are struggling to submit their documents before the last day.

Though officials have not made any announcement about the reasons for the problem, the staff at a MeeSeva centre in RTC crossroads pointed out that technical problems at the data centre were the reason for the outage.

Mee Seva centres offer over 200 services covering 38 different government departments. The students make use of all 2,856 MeeSeva centres to get their caste, income, and other certificates that are issued by the revenue department.

When it comes to the streamlined digital services, MeeSeva and E-Seva centres offer several online services, including payment of fees and bills.

Ramakrishna, who got admission in a private MBA College at Uppal, said that he has been visiting a MeeSeva centre for the last one week to get his caste and income certificates.

“My admission will be cancelled if I fail to get the certificates in the next three days,” he said.

However, people visiting MeeSeva centres in some areas to pay their power and other bills are not facing any trouble.
