Hyderabad: Three youth allege third degree torture in ACP office

Hyderabad: Three persons, accused of quarrelling with their neighbours during Bonalu festival, alleged that they were detained at the Panjagutta ACP office and allegedly subjected to third degree torture.

The victims Nagender, Shiva and Anil, who work for Congress leader Naveen Yadav, stated that during the bonalu celebrations they were sitting in a parked jeep near their house in Madhuranagar. When the jeep owner asked them to get out of the vehicle both parties entered into a tiff, police sources said.

Based on a complaint lodged by their neighbour Madhuranagar police reportedly registered a case against Shiva, Anil, and Nagendar.

“We were taken to Panjagutta ACP office where the cops whipped us with rubber belts,” one of the arrested persons, displaying his injuries, alleged before the media.

He also stated that they were detained at the ACP office for two days and later produced before the Nampally criminal court.

When contacted, ACP Panjagutta S. Mohan Kumar, said that the allegations on police using third degree against Anil, Shiva and Nagender were baseless.

“They were arrested along with other locals after we received a complaint against them for creating nuisance and attacking the complainant during bonalu celebrations,” he said.
