Hyderabad: Top Cop Counsels 107 Rowdy-sheeters
Hyderabad: North zone DCP S. Rashmi Perumal counselled 107 rowdy-sheeters on Thursday, ahead of the Ganesha festival, and urged them to be on good behavior. The police were keeping a close watch on their regular activities and would take stringent action if they took to antisocial activities. The rowdysheets of those who continue to maintain good behavior would be closed, DCP Perumal said.
Woman Tries to Kill Kids, Ends Life; One Escapes
Hyderabad: A woman attempted to kill her children and die by suicide at a lake, but one of the kids managed to escape on Thursday, Ibrahimpatnam police said on Thursday. A search is on for the other child.
According to Ibrahimpatnam inspector Satyanarayana, the victims were a 38-year-old woman and one of her children. While her son escaped, the search is on for her daughter. The victims are not being named to protect the identity of the minors.
BRS Social Media Convener Taken into Custody
Hyderabad: The city cybercrime police reportedly took BRS social media convener Konatam Dilip Kumar into custody on Thursday. He was accused of posting the video of a rape victim in Jainoor. The incident had triggered rioting in the town in Asifabad district.
The cops have reportedly seized his mobile phone and the technical team is retrieving the data, police sources disclosed.
Cops Give CPR, Save Man Dying by Suicide in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Police personnel performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rescued a man who had become unconscious during an attempt to die by suicide at Regimental Bazaar on Thursday. Police said the survivor was beset with financial problems.
When he attempted to die by suicide, locals called the police, said Gopalapuram inspector Godeshi Naresh. Police went to the house, but fount it locked from inside. Police broke open the door and rescued the survivor, who was found to be unconscious.
Constable G. Srinivas and home guard Mallesh Yadav performed CPR on the survivor. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in an ambulance and was said to be recovering.
Woman Missing with 3 Children
Hyderabad: Maduranagar police are searching for a woman who left her house in Rahmatnagar along with her three children after a quarrel with her husband on Wednesday. Deccan Chronicle is not naming them as the children are minors.
Police said the husband, a security guard, had quarrelled with his wife after lunch and left to work. Unable to contact her on the phone, he rushed back home and found it locked and his family missing.
After searching for her with her relatives, he lodged a complaint with the Maduranagar police. Police registered a case and began tracking the wife’s mobile phone and CCTV camera footage and are looking for them at railway and bus stations.
Man Sentenced to 18 Months Imprisonment for Negligent Driving in Medchal District
Hyderabad: The Additional Metropolitan Magistrate of Medchal district on Thursday sentenced one Gurram Srinivas of Lingala Ghanpur to 18 months rigorous imprisonment for causing the death of a person due to negligent driving. Srinivas was arrested by the Ghatkesar police in 2018 for ramming into a pedestrian while he was driving a car. Srinivas was shifted to the Cherlapally central prison by the escort police.
Theft Reported at House of Patnam's Sister
Hyderabad: A case of theft was reported in the house of MLC Patnam Mahinder Reddy's sister Padmaja. Around 15 tolas of gold and Rs.3 lakh cash were found to be missing. A case was registered on Tuesday.
According to Rajendranagar circle inspector Kastro, the suspect was working in the house as a help for about four years. The suspect is currently absconding.
4 Arrested for Theft at Jewellery Store
Hyderabad: The Jagadgirigutta police and Balanagar CCS apprehended four persons at about noon on Wednesday for alleged theft at a jewellery shop after diverting the attention of the salesperson, after tracking them via CCTV images. With their arrest, police said, five other theft cases had been solved.
The accused were identified as Bojjagani Dheenamma, Bojjagani Nagendramma, Venkat Ravamma, and Balasaani Ashok, all from Khammam district. Bojjagani Gnanamma and Balasani Venkatapathi, driver of their vehicle, are absconding.
Police said the gang would split into two teams. Two women would enter the jewellery shop as customers, divert the attention of the salesperson and replace the original items with fake gold. The men would cover up for them. Police said Dheenamma was involved in 11 cases, Nagendramma and Venkat Ravamma in 12 cases each.
Rachakonda Police Recover 591 Stolen Mobile Phones Worth Rs. 2 Crore in 25 Days
Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police recovered 591 lost or stolen mobile phones, worth Rs.2 crore, with the help of the CEIR portal, Rachakonda police commissioner Sudheer Babu said on Thursday. The recoveries were made in a span of 25 days.
Of the phones, 339 were recovered in LB Nagar, 149 in Malkajgiri and 103 in Bhongir. The Rachakonda police have recovered 3,213 mobile phones so far this year.
Sudheer Babu handed over the mobile phones to their owners and interacted with them. He also took their feedback on the functioning of the police.
