Hyderabad twins set world record in Sanskrit sloka chanting

Hyderabad: Nihashwi and Niharsh Uplanchiwar, fraternal twins from the city, have etched their names into the International Book of Records. At just three years, eight months, and 16 days old, they have become the Youngest Twins to Chant Maximum Sanskrit Shlokas (Duo), an impressive feat showcasing their extraordinary dedication and talent of chanting six different slokas.

The journey to this remarkable achievement began at home, the family said. Their parents, Srumith U. and Ravali Ch., expressed immense pride in their children's accomplishment. “We are thrilled to see our children’s dedication and passion recognised on a global platform. They learned these shlokas by listening to the morning prayers offered by their father at home," said their mother, Ravali.

The twins’ success is proof of the significant role of early childhood education and the nurturing of talents beyond academic pursuits, the father said.

“I hope this accomplishment is a source of inspiration for many, demonstrating what young children can achieve with the right support and encouragement,” the parents added.

“We learnt these chants by looking at our father's morning pooja and rituals performed at home. Listening to it regularly made us learn them by heart and we started chanting it together with our father,” said Niharsh, one of the twins.

The twins’ ability to master multiple Sanskrit slokas at such a tender age is a moment of pride, their school Principal Kiranmai Allu, told Deccan Chronicle.

"Nihashwi and Niharsh's accomplishment is a testament to the potential of young minds when nurtured in a supportive environment. This remarkable feat not only brings pride to our institution but also inspires other students to explore and excel in diverse areas of interest," the principal of Ryan International School said.
