Hyderabad: Workshop held on PM Vishwa Karma scheme for skilled workers
VIJAYAWADA: The State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) of Andhra Pradesh organised a state-level workshop on the PM Vishwa Karma Scheme to provide training, certification, and employment opportunities to skilled workers at the Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Union Bank of India's general manager and SLBC convenor C.V.N. Bhaskar Rao, explained the eligibility, application process, and benefits of the scheme to the participants.
Bhaskar Rao stated that under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, free primary training lasting five to seven days, as well as a full-fledged 15-day training, will be provided to skilled workers across 18 categories, such as carpenters, goldsmiths, tailors, fishermen, sculptors, cobblers, and others.
Bhaskar Rao further mentioned that upon the successful completion of the training, a certificate will be awarded, and a toolkit worth Rs 15,000 will be given to the beneficiaries under the scheme. Additionally, workers attending the training program will receive a stipend of Rs 500 per day.
Moreover, bank loans at low-interest rates will be provided to the workers who attend the training programme and receive the certificate, Bhaskar Rao added.
