Hyderabad: Visitors to Nehru Zoological Park will have to pay revised entry and service charges from March 1, following a decision taken by a meeting of the governing body of the Zoo and Parks Authority of Telangana on Tuesday. The updated rates apply to entry tickets, camera usage, rides, safaris, and parking.
The entry fee has been set at ₹100 for adults and ₹50 for children. Visitors carrying cameras will have to pay ₹150 for still cameras and ₹2,500 for professional video cameras. Commercial movie shoots will be charged ₹10,000. These charges apply for all days. Earlier the entry fee was ₹70 per adult, and ₹45 for children on weekdays and an additional ₹10 for weekends and holidays.
The 20-minute toy train ride will cost ₹80 for adults and ₹40 for children, which again is a ₹20 hike. The hop-on, hop-off battery-operated vehicle (BOV) ride will be available at ₹120 for adults and ₹70 for children. Visitors opting for exclusive BOV rides will have to pay ₹3,000 for a 11-seater vehicle and ₹4,000 for a 14-seater vehicle for a 60-minute ride.
Additional attractions like the Fish Aquarium and Reptile House will now cost ₹20 and ₹30, respectively. The Nocturnal Animal House has been priced at ₹20 for adults and ₹10 for children. The Safari Park Drive, which offers a 20-minute tour, will now charge ₹100 per person for non-A.C buses and ₹150 for A.C buses.
Parking charges have also been revised, with two-wheelers charged ₹30, cars and jeeps ₹100, and buses ₹300.
Officials said the price revision was necessary to support maintenance and operational expenses at the zoo. The new rates will come into effect from March 1.
