HYDRAA Gets Dedicated Police Station

Hyderabad: The state government has announced establishment of a dedicated police station, under the charge of HYDRAA, to register complaints on land encroachment and damage to public property.

The police station will be located at the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency's (HYDRAA) office in Buddha Bhavan, Secunderabad, according to a government order (GO).

The station will be led by an officer of assistant commissioner of police rank. Cases will be registered based on directives from the commissioner of HYDRAA, and police personnel for the station will be deputed from existing resources.

HYDRAA’s primary responsibilities are protecting lakes, drainage lines, parks, playgrounds and government lands in urban local bodies, regional local bodies and urban development authorities. HYDRAA’s jurisdiction spans across Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road and the area in the middle, including the three police commissionerates.

The creation of this police station aims to streamline the registration and investigation of cases.

Previously, such cases were handled by regular police stations, whose workload often delayed proceedings.

The GO, signed by government special chief secretary Ravi Gupta, stated that HYDRAA can now file cases against land grabbers, encroachers and miscreants damaging and defacing public property and other cases related to asset protection through the newly established police station.
