Hydraa Prajavani Held at Buddha Bhavan

Hyderabad: A complainant from Hydernagar in Kukatpally alleged that 1,200 sq. yards of government land had been illegally encroached by a land grabber. The complainant stated that the Telangana High Court had ordered the MRO and collector to reclaim the property, but no steps were taken.

“How can the MRO not take any action, even after the High Court ordered them to do so? I submitted the documents I had to HYDRAA, and Ranganath sir said he would look into it and take action as soon as possible,” the complainant Seetarama Raju said.

The grievance was brought to light during the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency’s (HYDRAA) weekly Prajavani programme held on Monday at its offices in Buddha Bhavan. The session was presided over by HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, who interacted with citizens and received written complaints.

Residents raised issues related to illegal constructions and encroachments on lakes, roads, and government properties. People were called in to present their grievances, with the commissioner assuring prompt review and action.

A resident from Nacharam’s Mallikarjun Hills also highlighted encroachment concerns, claiming that parkland in their layout had been usurped and sold off by encroachers.

“We submitted multiple complaints to the GHMC but never received a response. However, commissioner Ranganath gave a positive response, assuring that he would inspect the site and verify the documents within three weeks,” said Bhaskar Reddy, the complainant.

The session underlined growing concerns over unauthorised construction and land encroachment across the city. Commissioner Ranganath assured HYDRAA’s commitment to addressing these issues and urged citizens to continue using the Prajavani platform to voice their concerns.

The next session is scheduled for the following Monday, with officials encouraging more residents to come forward to help build a better Hyderabad.
