Hyderabad: HYDRAA carried out demolitions in Koheda village, Abdullapurmet mandal, Rangareddy district, on Sunday, acting on complaints about illegal encroachments in Survey No.s 951 and 952. Several plot owners and representatives of Radhe Dhamam Layout Plot Owners’ Welfare Association had reported that one Sammireddy Balreddy had occupied their plots, erected boundary walls, and had blocked internal roads.
A verification of land records showed that in 1986, landowners K. Ramulu, Peddayya, and Esayya had developed the area as a gram panchayat layout. However, Balreddy had allegedly taken possession of the land, built a farmhouse, and acquired many plots and restricted access by blocking roads.
Officials from HYDRAA issued notices to both parties, asking them to present relevant documents. Both sides appeared before revenue and municipal officials for a review of records on Saturday.
Turkayamjal municipality confirmed that no approvals had been granted for the farmhouse, shed, compound wall, or fencing. The plot owners accused Balreddy of fabricating records to claim ownership after the plots had already been sold.
Following an inquiry, HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath ordered demolition of all unauthorised constructions. Following Sunday’s demotions in Koheda, around 170 plots were released from encroachment.
