HYDRAA Targeting the Poor and Leaving Out Rich and Powerful: KTR

Hyderabad:The BRS on Tuesday accused the Revanth Reddy government of demolishing the houses of the poor using the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA), while leaving out those owned by the rich and the powerful.

Party working president K.T. Rama Rao said, “they are ruthlessly demolishing the dwellings of the underprivileged, leaving them on the streets. Is there one law for the poor and another for CM's brother Thirupati Reddy,” he asked, referring to the house of the Chief Minister’s brother which has received a notice.

Rama Rao was addressing party leaders and workers from Serilingampally constituency represented by Arekapudi Gandhi who had won on a BRS ticket.

Rama Rao said that it was the then Congress government which granted permissions for illegal constructions on tank and lake beds and in their full tank levels. “If the Congress government wants to take action, it should do so against officials and those who gave those permissions then. The BRS will stand by the poor and fight against any attempts to demolish their homes,” he said.

“The BRS government built double-bedroom houses, flyovers, and STPs. This Chief Minister, in just nine months, has only engaged in intimidation, demolition, and blackmail,” he said. Rama Rao added that Serilingampally will witness a bypoll after Gandhi gets disqualified for jumping from BRS to Congress. “People are already regretting electing Congress to power,” he said, adding “the return to power by KCR is imminent. People of Telangana are yearning for KCR's return, and his victory is assured," he said.
