Live cockroaches, expired food items at Chillies Restaurant Paradise
Hyderabad: A task force team inspection at Chillies Restaurant, located in Begumpet, revealed serious hygiene and safety concerns. The restaurant failed to provide essential documentation such as water analysis reports, employee health records, and FOSTAC certificates for food handlers. During the inspection, live cockroach infestation was discovered in the kitchen.
Expired food items were found and seized, while other food items in the kitchen were improperly stored. Many items in the refrigerator were uncovered and none were labeled. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were found stored together in the refrigerator.
Food handlers were observed working without necessary protective equipment such as hair caps and gloves, and the kitchen’s flooring was found to be in poor condition with food waste scattered in multiple areas. Drains in the kitchen were also clogged with food waste.
