Independence Day celebrated in Nizamabad, Kamareddy
Nizamabad: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with fervour and gaiety in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts on Thursday. Government offices, residential colonies, business establishments and other entities witnessed the hoisting of the National Flag. People of all sections enthusiastically participated in the celebrations.
The Telangana state mineral development corporation chairperson, Eravathri Anil, hoisted the Tricolour at police parade ground after receiving a guard of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Anil said Nizamabad is known for agriculture, sugarcane and Gulf migrations. He said under the Congress rule, Nizamabad district will get back its previous glory.
MP Arvind Dharmapuri, MLAs Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, R.Bhupathi Reddy, Paidi Rakesh Reddy, mayor Dandu Neethu Kiran, district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, police commissioner Kalmeshwar Shinganewar and others took part in the celebration. Students from government and private schools performed cultural programmes on the occasion.
In Kamareddy, Telangana state tourism development corporation chairperson Patel Ramesh Reddy hoisted the National Flag at Indira Gandhi stadium on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Congress government began redressal of public grievances within 48 hours since it came to power. He said all the problems will be sorted out in a phased manner.
Kamareddy MLA K.Venkataramana Reddy, district collector Ashish Sangwan, superintendent of police Ch Sindu Sharma, municipal chairperson Gaddam Indupriya and others were present. The guest presented certificates to the best employees of government departments. Police officers also got appreciation certifications on the occasion.
