New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded the innovative prowess of Indian youth, asserting they are among the best in innovation and technology. His remarks came in response to GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke's acknowledgment of India's unstoppable rise as a global technology titan.
Dohmke, who leads the prominent developer platform GitHub, expressed his admiration on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). "Of course, I have to show some love to India. Now the fastest growing developer population on the planet, India's rise as a global tech titan is inexorable," he posted.
He highlighted that Indian developers are taking significant strides by increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) to build AI solutions. "India has the second-highest number of contributors to public generative AI projects. This makes it ever more likely the next great AI multinational is borne on the continent," Dohmke added.
Responding to Dohmke's remarks, Prime Minister Modi said, "When it comes to innovation and technology, Indian youth are among the best!"
Dohmke noted that Indians are the second-largest group of contributors to generative AI projects on GitHub's platform, following the United States. This substantial participation underscores India's growing influence in the global AI landscape.
