Inter-state Ganja Peddlers’ Gang Nabbed

KARIMNAGAR: The police nabbed five members of an inter-state ganja peddling gang and seized 12 kilograms of ganja, two bikes and five mobile phones from their possession here in Kodimyal mandal of Jagtial district on Tuesday.

Sharing the details with the media, superintendent of police Ashok Kumar said the five accused persons were identified as A. Sai Kumar, 23, T. Sai Teja, 20, and K. Arun, 19, all are natives of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh and A. Saketh, 24, and P. Raj Kumar, 24, natives of Jagtial district.

Being addicted to ganja and wanting to earn easy money, the five members formed a gang and started purchasing ganja from the Andhra-Orissa border. By selling the ganja for a high price along with consuming it they indulged in the illegal business.

Receiving information from a confidential source that the gang was meeting one Akhil at the outskirts of Puduru village in Kodimyala mandal, the police conducted a raid and nabbed five members during which Akhil fled from the spot.

The police have registered a case against the accused and started an investigation. They have also launched a manhunt to arrest Akhil.
