Intuc chief calls for upholding values of unity, brotherhood

Hyderabad: Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy, president of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc), on Sunday spoke of the power of collective strength of workers which transcends all barriers of religion, region and caste. He was speaking to VST workers following an Iftar ceremony.
“We celebrate not just a religious tradition, but the values of unity, brotherhood and solidarity that bind us together as workers and as citizens of the nation,” Dr Sanjeeva Reddy said. He stressed on the contributions of workers in shaping the nation and said that the essence of unity lay in mutual respect, compassion and understanding.
He said the Intuc would continue its support and advocate for the rights of all workers, irrespective of their background.
The ceremony was organised by VST union leaders L.D. Paul, B.J.P. Rajaiah, Srinivas Yadav and Shiva Kumar. Intuc leaders R.D. Chandra Shekar, Jagan Mohan Reddy, Vijay Kumar Yadav and Adil Shariff addressed the gathering, highlighting hope and commitment.
