Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) felicitated G. Satyajeet Reddy on getting elected as a member of the governing body of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Intuc president G. Sanjeeva Reddy appreciated Satyajeeth’s achievement, which marks a milestone in his unwavering commitment to workers’ rights and promoting social justice on a global scale. Satyajeeth Reddy will play a pivotal role in shaping international labour standards and policies, Dr Sanjeeva Reddy said.
The governing body is responsible for making critical decisions on ILO policies, programmes and for guiding the work of the organisation in promoting decent work for all.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyajeeth Reddy said, “My mission is to ensure that the rights of workers are not only protected but also strengthened. This includes safeguarding the fundamental right to strike, which is essential for workers to negotiate fair wages, safe working conditions, and equitable treatment.”
