Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court faulted the revenue officials of Kukatpally mandal for distributing the cheques of government schemes to the beneficiaries without inviting the local MLA of the Kukatpally assembly constituency to the events.
The court also questioned authorities on how they had invited the defeated MLA candidate to distribute the cheques to the beneficiaries. The court directed authorities not to commence the distribution without the participation of the elected MLA till December 23.
The court was dealing with the petition filed by Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, who complained that the government officials were not inviting him to the cheque distribution events. His counsel submitted that elected MLA should be invited as per GO Ms. Nos. 18 and 25 dated June 29, 2016, and July 16, 2016, respectively. But, in this case, the authorities violated the rules and they are liable for the violation of the rules.
