Hyderabad: The Intelligence Security Wing (ISW) is likely to review security arrangements for Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, following a warning letter issued by the Maoists in the wake of Thursday’s encounter in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
The three ministers are actively participating in flood relief activities in the undivided Khammam district. "We will take appropriate measures even though Maoist activity is not strong in the area," sources said.
Intelligence officials kept a close vigil on suspicious persons and their activities in Khammam district and closely communicated with the district police authorities for taking measures to increase security for the minister.
According to Intelligence inputs, Jagan, Maoist secretary for the Alluri Sitarama Raju district and Bhadradri area, issued a letter warning the Congress leaders and the district ministers following the encounter in which six Maoists were killed.
