Jagarana organised in Hyderabad temples

Traditionally, the devotees pull up all-nighter (jagarana) on the night of Shivaratri while chanting the name of Lord Shiva or listening to the stories in his praise.

Hyderabad: Several religious events were organised at temples and other places to allow devotees to stay awake all night on the occasion of Shivaratri. Traditionally, the devotees pull up all-nighter (jagarana) on the night of Shivaratri while chanting the name of Lord Shiva or listening to the stories in his praise.

The BHEL centre of Brahma Kumaris organised a massive celebration at an open ground hosting bhajans and other programmes.

According to B.K. Sarala, the national coordinator for Brahma Kumaris, “We have arranged a new golden age exhibition and the darshan of Shivalinga throughout the night. Devotees are invited to join and stay awake all night.”

Sri Dharamapuri Kshetram at Miyapur organised a ballet of Lord Shiva presented by P. Praveen Kumar and Chithkala Ensemble. The event, which was organised by Paramparaa, brings in renowned classical artists to perform.
