Jagtial MLA M. Sanjay Kumar addresses the media at his camp office on Wednesday, criticising Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind’s proposed Dharma Deeksha over the Kendriya Vidyalaya issue.
KARIMNAGAR: Jagtial legislator M. Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday criticised Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind over his proposed ‘Dharma Deeksha’, terming it a political exercise over the issue of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jagtial.
Addressing the media at his camp office, the MLA alleged that the protest was aimed at political gain rather than public interest. He said Kendriya Vidyalayas primarily cater to children of Central and State government employees, limiting access for the general public.
Sanjay Kumar said that while a Navodaya school had been established in Korutla, benefiting rural students, the MP was raising the Kendriya Vidyalaya issue in Jagtial. He added that the state government’s Integrated School Complex and Telangana Public School initiatives would offer broader benefits. Responding to allegations of delay in land allotment, the MLA said such processes involve procedural timelines and that protests over ongoing administrative work were unwarranted.
He urged the MP to seek Central assistance for education funding in the state instead of staging protests. The MLA said efforts were underway to establish educational institutions in Chalgal, with discussions held between welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar and irrigation minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on land allotment.
He added that alternative locations in Hanumanjipet, Antargam and TR Nagar have been identified in case the Chalgal site is not finalised. The meeting was attended by DCC president Gajangi Nandaiah, Municipal chairperson Samindla Vani and AMC chairman Gaddam Narayana Reddy.
