Jainoor Tahsildar, Panchayat Secretary in ACB net
Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday caught Dusihetti Thirupathi, a Tahsildar of Jainoor mandal in Komurambheem Asifabad district, red handed when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.12,000 through second accused Madishetti Shekar, a Panchayat Secretary working on out-sourcing basis from a complainant for showing an official favour.
Thirupathi is also the Special Officer for Gram Panchayat of Pochamloddhi in Jainoor mandal. The bribe was demanded to issue a cheque for Rs.9.10 lakh pertaining to the work of laying of CC roads at Pochamloddi executed by the complainant.
The tainted bribe amount of Rs.12,000 was recovered from the possession of Shekhar. The fingers of both hands of Shekhar yielded positive in a chemical test. The ACB officials said both Tirupathi and Shekhar performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage and produced them before the special judge for ACB cases in Karimnagar. The court later remanded them to judicial custody.
