Justice Sujay Pal Appointed as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court
Hyderabad: The President Draupadi Murmu has appointed Justice Sujay Pal as the interim Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. An order to this effect has been issued, assigning the responsibilities of the Chief Justice to Justice Sujay Pal, a senior judge of the High Court. The current Chief Justice, Justice Alok Aradhe, has been transferred to serve as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
Born on June 21, 1964, Justice Sujay Pal completed his B.Com, M.A., and LL.B. degrees and registered with the Madhya Pradesh Bar Council in 1990. He has served various institutions, including banks, Human Rights Commissions, and boards. Justice Pal was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on May 27, 2011, and became a permanent judge on April 14, 2014. He was transferred to the Telangana High Court as a judge on March 21, 2024, following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium. He has now been appointed as the interim Chief Justice of the High Court.
