Hyderabad:Justice Sujoy Paul , Senior Judge in the Telangana High Court , has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. With Chief Justice Alok Aradhe being transferred as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday appointed the senior-most judge Justice Sujoy Paul to perform the duties of the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
Justice Paul was born on June 21, 1964, he completed graduation and postgraduation in law from Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur. He enrolled as an advocate with the Madhya Pradesh Bar Council in 1990. He was elevated as Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on May 27, 2011, and made permanent Judge on April 14, 2024. On transfer, he assumed charge as the Judge of the Telangana High Court on March 26 last year. He is also the executive chairman of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority.
