Kalya Village to Be Transformed Into Tourist Place
WARANGAL: Kalya village where the Adi Kavi of Telangana state, Palkuriki Somanatha, attained samadhi will be transformed into a tourist spot, informed Mahantesh Beeradar, the secretary of Karnataka tourism minister H. K. Patil.
Receiving the instructions from the minister, Mahantesh visited the Kalya village in Magadi taluk of Ramanagara district in Karnataka state and paid tributes in front of Somanatha samadhi.
Mahantesh said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a special interest in developing the Palkuriki Somanatha samadhi into a tourist spot on lines of how the Telangana government transformed his birth place Palakurthy into a tourist place.
Even though he was born in Telangana state, the poet wrote the Basava Puranam, the mythical history of Basavanna, a great socio-spiritual philosopher of Karnataka state, Siddaramaiah wanted to talk with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to transform Somanatha’s samadhi into a tourist spot.
Mahantesh said within a short time Karnataka tourism minister H. K. Patil’s team along with Union minister of state, ministry of railways V. Somanna would visit Palakurthy village of Jangaon district and would observe the Smirti Vanam established in the name of Palkuriki Somanatha.
Later, the team will submit the report to Siddaramaiah and will chalk out a plan to develop and transform Kalya village.
