Karimngar birthplace of struggles: KTR
The current BRS working president recalled how KCR chose Karimnagar to launch the party’s first public meeting, Singhgarjana

KARIMNAGAR: Speaking at a charged party workers meeting in Karimnagar district on Sunday, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao underlined the deep emotional bond former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao shared with the district, calling it the “birthplace of struggles.” He recalled how Chandrashekar Rao chose Karimnagar to launch the party’s first public meeting, Singhgarjana, on May 17, 2001, confident of the district’s robust support that had propelled the Telangana movement.
In a fiery address, Rama Rao lashed out at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, branding him a “thief” and blaming public disillusionment not on the people, but on politically motivated hatred and greed aimed at Chandrashekar Rao. He also condemned both the BJP and Congress for failing Telangana, citing unkept promises by Prime Minister Modi — including depositing Rs 15 lakh in citizens' accounts and creating two crore jobs annually — and accusing Congress of betraying the state from the start.
Highlighting past successes under Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership, Rama Rao pointed to transformative irrigation projects, new districts, and educational institutions that reshaped Telangana’s future. He stressed that the BRS was born out of the single mission of achieving a separate Telangana state, a cause championed with the blessings of leaders like Jayashankar on April 27, 2001.
Urging unity among party workers, Rama Rao vowed a determined fight for a sweeping victory in the next elections, particularly in Karimnagar. He called on members to pack Warangal for the upcoming meeting on April 27, asserting that the BRS remains a potent force in Telangana politics.
