KCR no. 1 accused in TG’s Krishna water loss: Bandi

KCR prime accused in TG’s Krishna water loss: Bandi

Hyderabad:Union minister of state Bandi Sanjay Kumar blamed BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao for the severe water crisis and desertification of the southern Telangana districts of Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar and Rangareddy, caused by the inadequate allocation of Krishna waters.

He said that while Telangana was entitled to 575 tmc ft of Krishna River water, Rao, during the BRS regime, signed an agreement with then-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy accepting just 299 tmc ft of water for the state. “KCR is the prime accused in Telangana losing its rightful share of Krishna waters, all for the sake of a grand feast with fish soup,” Sanjay alleged.

Speaking to reporters, he accused Rao of misleading the Apex Council about Telangana’s water entitlement and deceiving the people by delaying the construction of the Srisailam left bank canal (SLBC) and extending it unnecessarily to draw water from the tail end. He also blamed Congress for remaining silent on the issue, holding both BRS and Congress responsible for the state’s water loss.

Sanjay alleged that there was a collusion between BRS and Congress, questioning why Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had not arrested Chandrashekar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao and other BRS leaders in cases such as the Kaleshwaram scam, the phone-tapping case, the drugs case, the farmhouse case and the Formula E car race scam.

“Even after getting approval from the High Court and Supreme Court, the Revanth Reddy government has not acted against KTR in the Formula E scam. The two parties have struck a deal in Delhi, agreeing not to file cases against each other to counter the BJP’s growing influence in Telangana,” he remarked.

Asserting that the BJP will sweep the upcoming MLC elections, Sanjay claimed that the BRS, despite not contesting, is secretly supporting Congress candidates. He also vowed that the BJP would continue to fight until Backward Classes (BCs) receive 42 per cent reservation in local bodies, accusing Congress of attempting to reduce BC reservation to 32 per cent by allocating 10 per cent to Muslims.

When asked about the state of the Congress government, Sanjay remarked that many Congress MLAs were unhappy. “Except for the top five ministers in Revanth Reddy’s cabinet, who are benefiting from deals and commissions, most Congress MLAs are frustrated. They are struggling to face voters due to the government’s failure to implement the six guarantees,” he alleged.
