Khammam: Dy CM inspects Munneru stream

Several low-lying areas got submerged in the rainwater and residents in these areas have been shifted to special relief camps set up by the government

Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka inspected the Munneru vagu in Khammam on Sunday.

With heavy rains lashing Telangana and several lakes and water bodies overflowing and banks getting breached, people have been facing inconvenience. The Munneru stream is overflowing and inundated several colonies in Khammam.

Several low-lying areas got submerged in the rainwater and residents in these areas have been shifted to special relief camps set up by the government.

According to latest reports, seven persons were stranded in Munneru flood water at Prakash Nagar barrage in Khammam.

All of them belonging to the same family reached the top of their home in Venkateshwara Colony when their house was surrounded by flood water.

Colonies submerged under water include Rajiv Gruhakalpa colony, Venkateshwara Nagar, Ganesh Nagar and Danawaigudem.
