Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested Katta Nagesh, a Senior Accountant at the District Treasury Office in Khammam, for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs.40,000 from a complainant to do official favour.
Nagesh allegedly demanded bribe to process the RPS pay fixation, service pension, gratuity, enhanced family pension, normal family pension bills, and commutation amounting to about Rs.3.92 lakh pertaining to the complainant’s uncle, who expired.
Nagesh allegedly demanded 10 per cent of the bill amount as commission. The ACB registered a case of criminal misconduct against Nagesh on October 19, 2024. The ACB officials said Nagesh was arrested as he performed his duty improperly to obtain undue advantage and added that the details of the complainant were not being revealed due to security reasons.
