Kishan Reddy Condemns Alleged Use of Animal Fat in Tirumala Laddu
Hyderabad: BJP state president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy expressed shock over reports of use of animal fat in preparation of the Srivari laddu prasadam and said that it is an attempt to hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
In a statement, Kishan Reddy said whoever was responsible for it must be punished. The police and probe agencies must intensify their work to book the culprits, he said.
Many devotees consider that their temple tour will complete only on having the laddu prasadam from the temple. The use of animal fat and fish oil in the prasadam was an unpardonable crime, he said.
The incidents of propaganda by other religions, sale of liquor and non-veg food in the temple town of Tirumala and other irregularities had turned out to be a routine incident these days, Kishan Reddy and saw in them a conspiracy. He said the AP government must conduct a comprehensive probe and take all measures to maintain the sanctity of the temple town.
Kishan Reddy urged the political parties and other religious groups not to sensationalise the incident for their political gains as it is attached with the sentiments of crores of devotees. The repeated talk about adulteration of the laddu prasadam may affect the trust and sentiments of devotees, he said.
