Kishan Reddy Questions Congress-NC Pact

Hyderabad:The BJP has charged that the decision of the Congress to align with the National Conference (NC) for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections had exposed the conspiracy of the Congress against the reservations in the Union Territory. "Is Congress supporting the ill-intentions of the National Conference against the reservations to Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals and the people of hilly regions in J&K," questioned Union minister for mines G. Kishan Reddy, incharge of the party for the Kashmir elections.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, the minister has asked if the Congress supported the renaming of Shankaracharya Hill as `Takhthe Suleiman’ and Hari Parvat as `Kohe Maran’. He also asked why the Congress wanted to hand over the power to a few political families “who exhibit allegiance to Pakistan and destabilise the state economy once again."

"J&K is making rapid progress after the abrogation of Article 370. The Congress is once again trying to push it back to its previous condition," Kishan Reddy alleged. He asked why talks should be held with Pakistan, which was responsible for terrorist incidents in J&K. He said the BJP would contest the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections without any alliance.

Kishan Reddy said the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge visited the residence of NC chief Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar after it had released its manifesto. “Why the Congress silent on several issues of the NC manifesto, which are threatening national unity and integrity? Why the Congress supporting the NC which openly said that it would not care about the constitution written by Dr B.R. Ambedkar,” Kishan Reddy questioned.

Responding to a question, Kishan Reddy, president of Telangana BJP, charged that high drama is taking place in Hyderabad in the name of HYDRAA. He questioned how government officials gave power and water connections and collected taxes from the illegal structures for all these years. The permissions were given indiscriminately by the earlier BRS and Congress governments to illegal layouts and plots.

A serious discussion is required on how the officials in connivance with builders and others have given permissions to plots in disputed areas, he pointed out. Charging that the encroachment of water bodies is indiscriminately taking place in the State, Kishan Reddy said that the State is developing vertically without any master plan. The future generations will repent for not having any parks and playgrounds in the city, he added.
