Hyderabad: Hyderabad witnessed a display of the Indian military’s arms, martial skills and operational and technological endeavours, as the Indian Army's ‘Know Your Army’ mela was inaugurated by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at the Golconda Fort on Friday. The mela is being organised by Headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area and coordinated by the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad, running from 9 am to 5 pm until January 5.
The three-day event offers an opportunity for the public to interact with soldiers and learn about their lives and equipment, creating a wave of enthusiasm and patriotism among the citizens of Hyderabad.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the mela and interacted with soldiers and army officials. He visited several stalls and checked out the exhibits. Children from various schools explored advanced artillery guns, communication systems and specialised nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) warfare suits, gaining first-hand experience with military technology.
Army authorities said that the mela serves as a bridge between the Armed Forces and the public, showcasing the modernisation and inclusivity of the Indian Army and the event would inspire future generations to serve the nation and appreciate the sacrifices made by our soldiers.
