Nizamabad: Minister for roads and buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday demanded setting up of a turmeric board in Nizamabad district. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the same. He said farmers are eagerly waiting for the board.
The minister took part in various development programmes in Dharpally, Indalwai mandals and Nizamabad. Nizamabad rural MLA R. Bhupathi Reddy, Jukkal MLA Thota Laxmikanth Rao, district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu were among others who attended the meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the Kaleshwaram project was a waste money. No single drop of its water was used, but bumper crop yielded in the state, he said. BRS president and former CM K.Chandrashekar Rao were not alone, he even had taken part in the Deeksha for the Telangana statehood, he said.
The minister called upon farmers to attend Rythu Sadassu programmes. He said fine quality rice will be supplied to fair price shops, hostels and anganwadi centres soon. The minister handed over a cheque of Rs 3.50 crore to a self help group women. He said that rain damaged roads will be repaired on a war-footing basis. The minister also participated in the RBVRR high school programme at Mubaraknagar in Nizamabad.
