KTR seeking BJP help in Formula-E case: Ponguleti
Khammam:Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of seeking assistance from BJP leaders at the Centre to evade a corruption case. Speaking to the media at Chinna Venkatagiri village in Khammam rural mandal, the minister claimed that Rama Rao is aware of impending developments that could impact his legal situation within two or three days. He alleged that the former minister travelled to New Delhi to request support from leaders at the Centre to save him from the case.
The minister said that the state government has handed over the Formula-E case to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which is awaiting the Governor’s permission to investigate Rama Rao’s involvement. Ponguleti also alleged that BRS MLC K. Kavitha could secure bail in a liquor scam with the help of the same Central leaders. Additionally, he questioned why Rama Rao is meeting Union urban development minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi.
Ponguleti further claimed that the BRS government had transferred ₹55 crore to the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body for world motor sports, prior to conducting the Formula-E race and without obtaining the necessary permissions. He questioned Rama Rao’s fear of corruption allegations in the Formula-E racing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The minister alleged that the former minister approached RSS and BJP leaders in New Delhi to protect him from the case and stated that he possesses all the evidence to substantiate his claims.
