Lagcharla Row: Police to File Fresh Cases

HYDERABAD: The Vikarabad police, who are probing the Lagcharla cases in which rioters attacked Vikarabad district collector Pratheek Jain and other revenue officers, are likely to register fresh cases against the suspects.
Sources said that police found more leads in connection with the incident of attacking the collector, revenue officials — Linga Naik, Venkat Reddy and others — at Lagcharla during the public hearing on land acquisition to set up an industrial park.
Earlier, police had registered three different cases against 29 persons including BRS former MLA Patnam Narender Reddy, B. Suresh and others for inciting villages to attack on the district collector.
“We will take custody of key accused based on court directions and will question them. Based on the inputs, we will take further action," police officials said.
