Large Turnout at Telangana Congress' Meet the Minister Event

Hyderabad: A large number of people gathered at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday to participate in the Congress’ Meet the Minister programme, seeking resolution for various grievances. The Congress initiated this programme on September 24 to facilitate direct engagement between the public and the government, allowing citizens to submit petitions to the ministers directly twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Irrigation and civil supplies minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy received the petitions, totalling 320 at the end of the day. Uttam Kumar Reddy, after listening to their concerns, personally recommended that the grievances be addressed swiftly by calling higher officials and department heads over phone on the spot.

Uttam Kumar Reddy dedicated approximately four hours, from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm, against the stipulated time of three hours, to interact with petitioners. His staff forwarded these applications to the relevant heads of departments, ministers, MLAs, and higher officials for prompt action.
Petitions filed included issues related to land disputes, GO 317 transfers, the Mallannasagar project, Sahara Company cases, DKZ technology companies, as well as concerns over pensions and ration cards.

Special applications were also submitted by women, pregnant women, mothers, the disabled, and elderly individuals seeking ration cards, health cards and pensions.
Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that special meetings will soon be held to address issues related to ration and health cards, urging people with these concerns to apply during the upcoming sessions in their respective areas.
TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, who participated in the programme alongside DCC president C. Rohin Reddy, praised the initiative. "The people have faith in the Congress, and it is that faith which has brought them here in large numbers," Goud said, stating that all petitions would be processed and resolved according to the rules.
Goud also stated that this was a continuous effort and urged the public to be patient as the party worked to resolve their issues sincerely.
