Lawyers must have good relation with judges, says ex-CJ Praveen Kumar

Speaking on ‘Judge-Lawyer Relations-Professional Ethical Values’ at the
second conference of Indian Association of Lawyers (IAL) here, Praveen Kumar
said that the senior lawyers must guide new lawyers in the court. “The
lawyers must master the laws and new judgements along with developing
fluency in argumentation with having complete awareness on the various
subjects,” he said.

He said the new judges will emerge from the dynamic and professional Bar
association and that the junior lawyers must learn from the seniors about
how to excel in the profession.

The Warangal district court chief judge Ch. Ramesh Babu said that every
person will speak about their rights but they do not talk about their
responsibilities. “The lawyers must stop asking the judges for adjournments
of cases in the courts and must stand by the side of the victims.”

The Hanamkonda district court chief judge Nirmala Geethamba said that it is
sad to note that lawyers are being attacked at many places which is a cause
of concern. The lawyers are like soldiers who will play a key role in
protection of constitutional rights, she added.
