Leopard Rumors at PJTSAU Prove False After Campus Search
Hyderabad: Rumours about a leopard prowling on the campus of the Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) were found to be false after officials checked the place. Following reports on some news channels and posts on social media, local police, and forest department officials searched the campus on Sunday for about four hours. They looked for paw prints, hair and scat of the big cat but found none. Dr. Hussain, the university's security officer, confirmed that no signs of a leopard were found.
University officials were concerned that the rumours were causing fear among students and their families. The officials stressed the need to avoid sharing fake information that could spread unnecessary panic among people.
Students were told to be careful and avoid walking alone at night. The university asked the media not to spread rumors, confirming that no leopard tracks were found, even in CCTV footage or near water.
