Hyderabad: In a joint operation, Telangana Excise teams seized 82 bottles of non-duty paid liquor (NDPL), valued at ₹2 lakh, which had been illegally smuggled from Goa via the Vasco Da Gama Express. The operation was carried out by a team of 20 personnel from the State Task Force (STF) and excise enforcement, led by inspectors Venkateswarlu and Nagarajuna.
The joint teams boarded the train at Shadnagar, and the STF conducted checks between Nampally and Secunderabad while the train was in motion. During the inspection, the STF teams successfully seized the 82 NDPL bottles. V B Kamalasan Reddy, director of Telangana excise and enforcement, confirmed the operation's success.
