Loan App Harassment Suspected Behind Woman’s Suicide
During preliminary inquiry, police examined the deceased woman’s mobile phone and found indications that she had borrowed money through an unidentified loan application.

A 25-year-old married woman was found dead at her residence in Neredmet, reportedly unable to bear harassment from loan app operators. However, her family has raised suspicions over the circumstances surrounding her death, prompting police to register a case of suspicious death and launch an investigation from all possible angles.
According to Neredmet police, the deceased was identified as Shivadanapu Devanandini, a native of Ganapavaram village in Krishna district. She had married Tirumala Revanth Kumar, a native of Dwarakatirumala in West Godavari district, in a love marriage on November 8, 2022. The couple have been residing at an apartment in JJ Nagar under the Neredmet police station limits for the past three years and were employed in private jobs.
Police said that on June 7, Kumar left home around 10 am for work. After repeated phone calls to his wife went unanswered, he returned home and found her hanging from a ceiling fan, using a chunni in the bedroom. He immediately alerted the police.
During preliminary inquiry, police examined the deceased woman’s mobile phone and found indications that she had borrowed money through an unidentified loan application. Investigators suspect that repeated calls and harassment over repayment delays may have driven her to take the extreme step.
However, the woman’s father, Bhimavarapu Venkata Reddy, lodged a complaint expressing suspicion over his daughter’s death, including doubts regarding her husband’s role. Police said further investigation is underway.
