Hyderabad: A youngster Osman was stabbed to death brutally by a gang of six members at Pattigadda under Begumpet police station limits on Wednesday morning. After committing the crime, the gang members surrendered before the police.
The gang members called Osman from his house on the pretext of discussing an issue. They then took him to an open place and brutally attacked him with knives. Death was instant for Osman as he suffered serious stab wounds, the police said.
Upon receiving information from local residents, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Gandhi hospital mortuary for an autopsy. The preliminary inquiry conducted by the police revealed that a love affair could be one of the causes behind the death of Osman.
As the incident triggered tension in Pattigadda and its surroundings, the police posted a picket to prevent any untoward incident in the locality. The police booked a case of murder under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the gang members and took up investigation.
