Mahbubnagar Deputy State Tax Officer in ACB Net
Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Tuesday caught Dinne Venkateshwar Reddy, a Deputy State Tax officer of the Assistant Commercial Taxes Office (ACTO) in Mahabubnagar for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs. 10,000 from a complainant to issue a GST license for running seeds and scrap business
Reddy demanded bribe from the complainant for doing business in the name of VDN Traders at Marlu, Mahabubnagar town. The ACB officials recovered the tainted bribe amount from the possession of Reddy. The portion of the file which came into contact with the tainted bribe amount yielded a positive result in a chemical test, ACB officials said, adding that Reddy performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
They said the details of the complainant were not being revealed due to security reasons. The officials produced Reddy before the special court for ACB cases in Hyderabad after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
