Mahindra University Launches School of Hospitality Management in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Mahindra University has launched its School of Hospitality Management in Hyderabad, which is offering a B.Sc (Hons) in Culinary and Hospitality Management. The course is designed to blend traditional skills with modern technological advancements and prepare students for global careers in hospitality with a focus on innovation, analytics, and sustainability.
Admissions for the first session, with 30 seats, will start in January 2025. A regular intake of 60 students will follow in August 2025. Applicants with an 80% score in 10+2 across all streams can qualify through either the NCHMCT JEE score or Mahindra University Hospitality Management Entrance Test-2025 (MUHET 2025), followed by an interview.

The school has established partnerships with leading global institutions, including Virginia Tech, Swiss Hotel Management School, and the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston. Collaborations with Mahindra Holidays and Club Mahindra will provide students with direct industry exposure.

Thirugnanasambantham, Dean of the School of Hospitality Management, added, “The hospitality industry is evolving rapidly, and to stay ahead of the curve, we need to equip our students with a comprehensive skill set that includes technical expertise and strategic thinking. This programme is designed to develop culinary skills and cultivate leadership, entrepreneurship, and sustainable practices.”
India’s hospitality and culinary sector generates Rs 250 billion annually, contributing 7.5% to the nation’s GDP. The industry, propelled by domestic and international tourism, is expected to create over 10 million new jobs by 2033.
