Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out at an automobile service centre near the Amberpet flyover in Golnaka, on Monday, reducing scrap carton boxes and other material in the office room to ashes. No one was injured. According to fire officials, the blaze was suspected to have originated from accumulated scrap cartons in the ground‑floor office area.
Fire tenders from the Musheerabad station, assisted by a water bowser from Gowliguda, battled the flames for over six hours. District fire officer T. Venkanna said: “It took us more than seven hours to extinguish the blaze. The debris was cleared using excavators..”
Amberpet police, along with CLUES teams, inspected the gutted premises and collected samples. Traffic was diverted towards Shivam Road, Ramanthapur, Kachiguda, and Barkatpura until the fire was brought under control. Police suspect a short circuit may have triggered the incident.
