Malla Reddy in another land grabbing row
Hyderabad: The name of former minister and BRS Medchal MLA Ch Malla Reddy has once again cropped up in a land dispute. The dispute this time is with Congress Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar against the title of a land parcel measuring two acres and 35 guntas in Survey No 82/EE in Suchitra.
Speaking to media persons, the Congress leader accused BRS leaders of harassing him. He said he had purchased a portion of the land measuring 600 square yards in the same site along with former BRS MLA from Uppal, Bethi Subhas Reddy and an injunction order was also in place.
MLA Laxman Kumar said there has been no counter to the injunction order and a portion of the land had been sold to a person named Srinivas Reddy in 2021, based on records of the district collectorate.
“Malla Reddy misused his power to harass us. We have the documents related to the land, and all statements made by Malla Reddy are bogus,” said Laxman Kumar. He said attempts to settle the land issue with the former minister and his son-in-law, Marri Rajashekar Reddy, who is also the BRS MLA from Malkajgiri, were in vain.
A survey of the land is underway currently and BRS MLA Malla Reddy on Sunday told media persons that he will meet Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
According to a source, Malla Reddy has already tried to meet the Chief Minister on Sunday, but failed. “The BRS leader wants to meet the Chief Minister to ensure that more skeletons in the closet are not unveiled,” the source said.
Earlier, Malla Reddy tried to meet the Chief Minister when authorities undertook demolition at Malla Reddy Aeronautical College in Dundigal and also when an illegal road leading to Malla Reddy Engineering College was demolished in the Gundla Pochampally Municipality. However, he could not meet the Chief Minister on both the occasions.
During the press conference, the Congress Dharmapuri MLA also stated that he will also meet the Chief Minister to complain against the BRS MLAs.
According to the police, several cases have been booked on both the parties for altercation, trespass and violence. "A survey of the land was initiated by the revenue department on Sunday,“ said Petbasheerabad inspector K. Vijaya Vardhan.
On Saturday, Malla Reddy and his son-in-law barged into the site with their sidekicks and tried to pull down the temporary barricades.
